Black Rock Golden Ale is brewed with Ale and Lager malts with Caramalt and Roasted specialty malts for a rich golden colour. NZ Green Bullet and Pacific Gem hops are added at the boil to provide a moderate-strong bitterness. Brew with 1kg of brewing sugar for a crisper finish. For more body, colour and malt flavour use 1.7kg Black Rock Ultralight or Light unhopped malt extract instead of sugar.
The master brewers at Black Rock have expertly brewed the highest quality fresh wort in a state-of-the-art Krones brewery, using only the finest fresh NZ malt before gently evaporating to 80 brix for your convenience. Try brewing this recipe with a specialty US ale yeast like Safale US-05.
